Oracle Corp. is offering its Dotcom suite at $6,767 for a
one-seat developer license. Meanwhile, Informix Corp. is selling
its Internet Foundation 2000 package at $199 for a one-seat
developer license.
The Informix offer, which is targeted at the Linux operating
system running on any manufacturer’s Intel platform, is good until
Oct.10 worldwide. By comparison, a Unix-based version of the
software typically costs $2,000 for a one-seat developer
license.”
