“Opnix invites peer review for new Open Source tool.”

“Opnix, Inc., a next-generation Internet technology company and
bandwidth provider, announces the availability of a new Network
tool to effectively monitor performance metrics. Although there are
various route tools in the industry, none currently offer a
combination such as the OpRoute tool. Quantifiable metrics from
Packet loss, Latency, Number of Layer 3 Hops, Number of Nap Hops,
as well as Number of AS Hops are obtained through this tool. In
addition, the ability to simultaneously see the Network from two
points of view, the user’s and Opnix, saves time and effort in
finding potential trouble spots.”

“OpRoute is a new tool originally developed for Opnix internal
use, but was thought to be useful to the entire Internet community.
“At Opnix, we use Open Source tools whenever possible and welcome
the opportunity to contribute back to the Open Source community
with our new optimized route information tool”, says Jiva DeVoe,
V.P. Software Development. OpRoute is now available to download as
source, currently tested on the Linux platform, at the new
http://www.oproute.net site.”
