LinuxProgramming.com: Editor’s Comment: Whither Java, the Sequel

I have to admit, when I posted my original “Whither Java?”
editorial (on both LinuxProgramming.com and LinuxToday) asking why
Java isn’t more popular than it is on Linux, I didn’t expect to get
this much detailed feedback and of this quality. As they say in the
neighborhood where I grew up, “All youse guys done good.” (This
works much better if you say it with a comically overblown New York
accent that makes you sound like a rejected extra from The
Sopranos.)

In fact, because the feedback was so good, I thought it would be
worthwhile getting an official response from Sun. I checked with
one of my contacts there, David Harrah, who’s agreed to help
facilitate this. To speed up the process I volunteered to summarize
the comments, and I’ve chosen this coming Sunday, February 25th at
10PM US east coast time, as the deadline.

So, this is your “last call”. If you have something you want
to add the conversation we’re about to open up with Sun, it’s time
to belly up to the keyboard. You can post your comments as
