A British company is claiming a world first for developing
a fax and messaging server -that runs under the Linux operating
system.
ALICOM, based in the Thames Valley, has been
delivering cost-effective global messaging solutions for over 10
years.”

“Alicom’s Linux Enterprise Messaging Server (EMS) can be dropped
into existing networks (NT, Netware and UNIX) to give fax, telex
and Internet e-mail services to MS Exchange, Outlook, Lotus Notes
and cc:Mail clients. Users can also fax directly from Windows
applications using I-Fax Enterprise client software running on
W95/98 and NT4 workstations. An application messaging interface
supports faxing or e-mailing directly from legacy applications, as
an alternative to printing….”
