PRNewswire: Scriptics Secures $3.5 Million in Funding from Lighthouse Capital Partners

“Scriptics Corporation, a leading developer of business
integration tools, today announced it has secured $3.5 million in
financing from Lighthouse Capital Partners of Greenbrae, Calif.,
with $3 million in cash and $.5 million in leasing, which brings
Scriptics’ total funding to $8 million to date. This investment
follows financing by Accel Partners of Palo Alto, in January of
1999, and an angel round in early 1998, by Andy Bechtolsheim and
Pehong Chen, luminary Silicon Valley technologists, and Gary
Hromadko, a well-known Silicon Valley venture capitalist. Funding
will support the expansion of Scriptics’ business-to-business
integration server, Scriptics Connect(TM), the industry’s first
easy-to-use XML infrastructure for developing business-to-business
applications.”

The backing from Lighthouse Capital demonstrates growing
confidence in the financial strength of our company and the
exciting promise of Scriptics Connect as a solution in
business-to-business e-commerce
,” said John Ousterhout, CEO at
Scriptics.”

“Scriptics Connect delivers a complete development and
deployment platform that enables companies to bring
business-to-business applications to market 5 to 10 times faster
than alternative approaches. It incorporates an innovative business
logic paradigm that is as simple as paper and “Post-It Notes(R)”
and provides flexible integration with a wide range of software
component standards, enterprise applications, legacy software and
Internet technologies to dramatically reduce the time, cost and
complexity of business-to-business application development.”
