Qalculate! 0.2

Application

Qalculate! v 0.2

Description

Qalculate! is a modern desktop calculator for GNU/Linux. It is
small and simple to use but with much power underneath. Features
include customizable functions and variables, unit handling, and a
graphical interface (GTK+) that uses an one-line fault-tolerant
expression entry (although it supports optional traditional
buttons).

Enhancements

Three very productive weeks has gone by since the first rather
bad release. Innumerous changes and fixes have turned Qalculate!
into a much more useful application. It clearly needs more testing,
but most features seem to function really well now. So please, try
out version 0.2, even if you really hated the previous release.

GtkGLExt 1.0.3

Application

GtkGLExt 1.0.3

Description

GtkGLExt is an OpenGL extension to GTK. It provides the GDK
objects to support OpenGL rendering in GTK, and GtkWidget API
add-ons to make GTK+ widgets OpenGL-capable.

http://gtkglext.sourceforge.net/

This is a minor bugfix release of GtkGLExt-1.0.

Enhancements

  • Added simple GLX_SGIX_pbuffer example.

Fixes

  • Fixed a private header inclusion bug in gdk/x11/gdkglx.h and
    gdk/win32/gdkglwin32.h. (Reported by Ralf Corsepius)
  • Fixed win32 GLPixmap code that causes GDI error with the latest
CVS version of GTK+ (>2.2.2). (Reported by Bruce
    Hochstetler)
  • gdkgloverlay-x11.c has been rewritten. New code doesn’t use
    XSGIFastInternAtom(), so –disable-sgi-fast-atoms configure option
    is no longer needed.

SLgtk 0.3.6

Announcement

Versions 0.3.6 of SLgtk and 0.9.3 of SLIRP are now available
at

http://space.mit.edu/~mnoble/slgtk

These are very minor releases, bringing SLgtk and SLIRP to the
brink of being completely separable packages. SLIRP now contains
it’s own configure script, and new website at

http://space.mit.edu/~mnoble/slirp

The website also contains slides for a talk given on “SLIRP-ing
FORTRAN into S-Lang”.

Description

The SLgtk package binds the Gtk2 and GtkExtra widget sets to the
S-Lang scripting language (www.s-lang.org). SLgtk wraps over 2000
functions from Gtk2 and its constituent libraries, includes over
4000 lines of sample code in 40+ working guilets, provides a code
generator (SLIRP) which can be useful for building additional
S-Lang modules. Both SLgtk and SLIRP are reasonably documented for
their age.

SLgtk also includes a visual version of the powerful S-Lang
“where” command, extensions to and performance enhancements for
GtkExtra, and a pixbuf loader for the FITS image file format widely
used within astronomy.

-Michael S. Noble
