The Linux version of Unreal Tournament does not ship on the
CD. You cannot in effect buy a Linux version of Unreal Tournament.
You must buy the Windows version and download the Linux binaries
and install program.
You can get it here, the download is
around 3MB and should take about 15 minutes at 56K. Once downloaded
you simply need to untar the archive with the following
command:”

“tar xvzf UT-Linux-400A.tar.gz”

“Once extracted you simply switch to the newly created directory
and run the setup.sh install script, or thats the theory. Every
time I tried running the script it would halt (crash) before even
getting to the install program. I looked at the script and found
that it was trying to execute a program located
at:./setup.data/bin/x86/glibc-2.1/setup.gtk.”

“I ran the setup.gtk program and the Loki installer started up
ready to install Unreal Tournament. I figured my problems were over
and I would soon be playing UT. Not so, the installer defaults to
using /mnt/cdrom as the path to the CD. I mount my CD as /cdrom. I
changed the path to the CD in the path box and pressed the install
button. The hardrive whirried for an amazingly short amount amount
of time and the installer proclaimed that the install was a
success….”
