Wired: Small Win for CA DVD Hackers

A tongue-in-cheek jab at their adversaries almost went sour
for a group of DVD hackers attending a court hearing in San Jose
earlier this week.

“But Santa Clara Superior Court Judge William J. Elfving denied
a request by the DVD Copy Control Association to submit
code-bearing T-shirts into evidence on Friday….”

“A group of the defendants’ sympathizers had handed the
T-shirts, which feature a DVD CCA logo and a red line through it on
the front, and the source code to the CSS decryption software on
the back, to the plaintiffs’ attorneys on the way out of the court
house at a preliminary injunction hearing earlier this week.”
