"MSC.Software has announced the release of its MSC.Nastran distributed memory parallel (DMP) for Linux to rev up PC simulation computing for engineers and manufacturers to near supercomputer speeds."

"With MSC.Nastran DMP on Linux, one large task can be distributed to several PCs running in parallel, accelerating the speed of analysis up to 20 times, hence reducing costs and time-to-market," said MSC spokesperson Richard Bush about the tool's potential impact on the design, simulation and implementation processes."

"According to the company, by providing a viable design simulation tool for engineers, MSC.Nastran DMP allows manufacturers a means to evaluate designs earlier in the development process, saving money, time and resources. The added benefits of distributing these workloads across multiple PCs running simultaneously can translate in better designs and faster implementation."
