"Hewlett-Packard Company today expanded its commitment to Linux
as a strategic operating system, unveiling a number of products and
services as part of its multi-OS strategy for HP-UX, 64-bit Windows
2000 and Linux."
"We are expanding the Linux distributions and Linux-based
mission-critical environments we support," said Duane Zitzner,
president, HP Computing Systems. "Having HP's always-on
infrastructure in the OS of their choice will allow our customers
to profit from today's e-services environment."
"HP intends to make MC/ServiceGuard running on Linux
available for customers in early 2001. This product fills
customers' need for high availability and fail-over capabilities
for a range of applications. At LinuxWorld, HP will
demonstrate MC/ServiceGuard with ServiceGuard Extension for SAP,
Apache and SAMBA on the HP NetServer system."
