pioneer the free Linux computer operating system for its entire
Internet services business TeliaNet, industry sources said on
Thursday."
"TeliaNet hopes switching to a Linux-based computer will enable
it to cut prices and increase reliability and availabilty of its
Web service, the sources said."
"It is believed to be one of the first implementations of Linux
in a commercial service, and a debut for an Internet service
provider...."
"The Linux win, which is expected to be announced later on
Thursday, will mean that all of TeliaNet's 800,000 private Internet
customers in Scandinavia and 1,000 corporate clients, will be
serviced by a single supercomputer in Copenhagen."
