Jun 06, 2001, 16:19 (19 Talkback[s])
"IBM today announced that NHL.com, the official Web site of the National Hockey League, will run its Web site on IBM Linux systems as part of an overall site-improvement plan. The Linux-based solution was chosen by Web site managers who demanded easy, flexible and reliable systems to handle the heavy Web traffic to the media rich content on the site.

"We wanted to be sure our Web site met the needs of our fans, particularly during high volume periods such as the Stanley Cup. Adding Linux to our site architecture has dramatically improved our manageability and reliability," said Peter DelGiacco, vice president, information technology, NHL. "We can now more easily evolve the site as NHL.com continues to grow in popularity."
