"FastTango, Inc., a leader in cluster management
software, today announced the acquisition of Coral Technologies, an
Austin-based company that designs distributed computing software
for "heavy lifting" applications in industrial settings.
The acquisition of Coral further solidifies the strength of
FastTango"s flagship product, TangoWorks, slated for commercial
release later this year. TangoWorks is a patent-pending software
suite designed to manage clusters, groups of clusters and
distributed resource networks for enterprise high performance and
high availability computing architectures.
Linux clusters are attractive due to very low initial costs
which can be 90 percent less that that of traditional servers.
However, lifetime administration costs can by high due to the
complexities of managing clusters. TangoWorks is designed to reduce
the total cost of ownership (TCO) of Linux clusters by masking the
complexities inherent in large cluster installations."
