"Fusion runs Ubuntu in a virtual machine, so it's not quite as
clean as installing the free operating system on a physical
computer. Part of the process involves loading VMware Tools, a set
of drivers that makes things work a little smoother. In Windows,
this process is automatic -- an installer drops VMware Tools into
place, you reboot the virtual machine, and you're done. It also
works that way in some versions of Linux.
