    IBM and Sun are doing battle in the high end territory of enterprise computing. When a recent study suggested that an IBM mainframe running Linux is more energy efficient than a server farm of Suns, Big Blue crowed the results. Sun countered by claiming IBM's interest in Linux on mainframes is a desperate play to revive a dying platform by stringing enterprise-class customers along with Linux, which, according to one Sun executive, isn't even ready for the data center.
