"SuSe formally delivered to retailers this week its latest version of Linux, which features a raft of bundled applications including Corel's WordPerfect 8 and the StarOffice 5.0 application suite.

"Like Red Hat's Version 6.0 of Linux, Version 6.1 of SuSe Linux is bundled with both the KDE 1.1 and GNOME graphical interfaces for desktop environments. The new product also features the 2.2.5 version of the Linux multiprocessing kernel.

"The complete distribution of the new version, which features 950 packages on five CDs for home and business use, also contains several database packages including IBM's DB2 and Informix SE, and ADABAS-D..."
