Today, IndyBox Systems (based in Indianapolis, Indiana) announced they would be introducing their Intel Pentium Xeon based systems, the XE Series which start at $2300.00, with one of the many Linux distributions pre-installed. i.e., Caldera Open Linux, Debian GNU/Linux, Mandrake Linux, Red Hat Linux, Slackware Linux, S.u.S.E. Linux, and Red Hat Linux. Their 6U rack mountable XE version starts at $3100, with a wide array of hardware options all optimized for Linux.

IndyBox Systems Chief Executive Charles Martin said "with the recent offerings of cracker-jack Linux boxes by many other companies, we are offering high-quality solutions at prices lower than the "white box" prices.
