"People often ask me why I use Linux as my desktop operating system instead of the more popular Windows. If I cite technical superiority as my reason, they casually inform me that technical superiority is of no consequence because Windows is the standard, used on over 80 percent of the world's personal computers.
"What they fail to realize is that Windows is a proprietary standard, completely owned by Microsoft."
