"Four of the main Linux distributors have joined Trillian, the industry initiative led by VA Linux to port the Linux operating system to Intel's 64bit Itanium processor."

"Red Hat, Caldera, SuSE and TurboLinux committed last week to Linux development and distribution for Intel's 64bit architecture. The announcement means that every major Linux vendor is lending weight to the Trillian Project ­ the initiative that aims to have IA-64 Linux available for distribution when the first systems based on the Intel Itanium processor begin shipping ­ expected to be in the second half of the year."
