"Linux Professional Institute test now available at 1,732 locations worldwide."

"The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) today announced the immediate availability of the first exam in its Linux certification program. The exam, which covers Linux basics as part of the program's first level, is now available worldwide at testing centers affiliated with Virtual University Enterprises (VUE).

"This is what we've been working towards since the day we started," said LPI Executive Director Evan Leibovitch. "We've had a community of thousands helping with the program so far, and now the greater community can see how well this model can work. We've tried to make our program challenging, vendor-neutral and accessible, and I believe we've succeeded on all fronts."
