"It is the day after the DVD trial, and three days before my wedding. I'm sitting in a theatre that used to be the stable house for the Villa. Villa Montalvo is the former residence of a early 1900s california senator. He donated it to be dedicated to the advancement of the arts, sciences and music. Whether the Transmeta launch falls into these cataogies is a bit beyond me, as I am writing this before I've seen what in fact they have waited 5 years to talk about."

"Let me paint a scene for you. The theatre is stuffed with about 250 reporters, vvcs and corporate partners. Right now the protograhpers are clusterings around the transmeta CEO Dave Ditzel taking pictures as if he were a supermodel wearing the latest dolce garbana."

"This is theatre, really, I mean, people who have looked at the transmeta website probably already both know more than the people reporting here, and are probably wondering how in fact the company can spend 7 hours of our time to tell us what could be gleaned from a web page in minutes."
