"Michael Tiemann, founder and chief technical officer of Cyg nus Solutions, became CTO at Linux distributor Red Hat ( when it bought Cygnus in December 1999. Tiemann got his start in open source code by writing the first Gnu native C++ compiler. He spoke with Senior Writer Charles Babcock.
