"Tech Data's Authorized Linux Education Center will offer three Caldera courses and prepare customers for Linux Professional Institute Certification, according to CW Rogers, vice president of customer education at Tech Data, based here."

"The courses include Linux System Administration, which focuses on the basics of administering a Linux system; Linux Network Administration, which offers training on advanced Linux networking including configuring network services and integrating a Linux system with a heterogeneous environment; and Linux Enterprise Administration, for installing, managing and maintaining Linux servers in a network."

"The courses do not focus only on Caldera, said Jeff Hunsaker, senior director of channel sales at Caldera. In the enterprise class, students will install Linux versions from Red Hat Inc., Research Triangle Park, N.C.; VA Linux Systems Inc., Sunnyvale, Calif.; and other companies. 'We realize that one Linux distribution is not going to dominate everywhere,' Hunsaker said. 'If we made our Linux training neutral, no matter if you use Red Hat, VA or Caldera, you still need Linux training.' "
