"Novell caught everyone on the hop this week with the news that it backing Linux to the hilt. More than that in fact. Novell is going the whole hog, putting an awful lot of eggs into one basket and committing the company to the Linux movement."
"You might have thought that Novell was just going to announce support for Linux across the range, which indeed it did anyway, but there was more to it than that. Novell is planning to support the majority of the major Linux distributions including Red Hat, Caldera and TurboLinux through its NDS eDirectory and Corporate Edition. And is intending to send NDS, its flagship solution, down the same road as its LDAP package and open up the source code."
"... With Novell directory services, and indeed commitment, added to the rush of Linux adopters it would seem that the revolutionary operating system has its future officially sealed. But we probably knew that anyway."
Complete story. (Note: pop-up ad may be objectionable to some readers.)
