"Figures for March of this year show that Apache now holds a shade over 60% of the Web Server marketplace with it s nearest rival - still being Microsoft - holding a relatively pitiful 20% of the market. The study of more than 13 million web sites showed some dramatic results. Not only did it show that Apache is growing at an astronomical rate - of 2% per month - but also that every other Web Server market player is getting hammered by the upstart server."
"Microsoft's IIS for instance, although currently holding the number two position has been on the wane for some time now. Between February and March of this year it shed almost 1% of its market share despite managing to retain some growth."
