"Cosource.com has enjoyed an exciting and fast-paced development history. As we announced in December, 1999, we joined long-time UNIX/Linux software provider Applix, Inc., with Cosource founder Bernie Thompson becoming President of Applix's Linux Division. Now we are proud to announce the next step in our evolution: Applix's Linux Division is now a separate software firm known as VistaSource, Inc."

"VistaSource is a new kind of software firm, focused on providing a maximum number of options for our customers, in keeping with the UNIX®/Linux open systems philosophy. Note that this does not mean that VistaSource is a primarily open source company. Instead, we'll aggressively use, promote and support open source alternatives whenever and wherever possible, while contuing to provide top-quality engineering and support to our customers. We will not let the traditional model of hiding company secrets from the world interfere with our ability to create innovative solutions."

"What does this mean for Cosource members? On the surface, the change will be mostly transparent. Cosource will still function as a platform-agnostic, non-prejudicial forum and marketplace for the expansion of all open source code bases. All current policies and procedures will remain unchanged. But there will be some exciting VistaSource programs on Cosource in the near future..."
