BW: LinuxSolve, Inc. Debuts Industry's First "Immunized" Secure Server Appliances Running on Linux

"LinuxSolve, Inc., the Santa Clara-based developer and integrator of pre-packaged turnkey security solutions for e-business, will be showing its line of "immunized" secure server appliances this week at Networld + Interop 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The secure server appliances run on the unique LinuxSolve SecureWorks server platform, a hardened version of the Red Hat Linux operating system containing several security enhancements over all other Linux distributions commercially available today. LinuxSolve will be showing the LinuxSolve WebSolve, InterSolve, and SpeedSolve(TM) Secure Servers from May 9 through May 12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in booth 1979, which belongs to their business partner, WireX Communications."

"The SecureWorks server platform is based on Immunix, a family of products and technologies developed by WireX Communications, Inc. in Portland, Oregon. Immunix facilitates web-based delivery of built-to-order, highly secure Linux operating systems for server appliances. The components of the operating system have been recompiled to protect against stack-smashing attacks, one of the most common forms of security breaches. In addition, the operating system prevents unauthorized access to any restricted system resources."

"WireX and LinuxSolve are taking the powers of Linux to the next level," explains Frank Rego, Director of Business Development at WireX. "Servers that run on the SecureWorks platform, which is powered by Immunix, will help prevent many of the kinds of security breaches that we have been reading about lately in the news." Rego also says that LinuxSolve is the first company in the industry to offer the "immunized" Linux operating system as part of a turnkey security package to the business and ISP market."
