"Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. (ICS) today announced it is offering its expertise in Motif to the Linux community by launching new services to support The Open Group's Open Motif offering, also announced today. ICS, The Open Group's exclusive supplier of technical support for Motif source code licensees, is initiating three new support services for enterprises migrating their applications to Linux, as well as Linux hardware suppliers and support companies that need in-depth technical expertise in Open Motif:

  • The Open Motif Everywhere Distribution provides developers with a single CD that includes the latest versions of Open Motif for all major open source platforms. The CD with 30 days of installation support can be purchased through The MotifZone, the website for developers using X and Motif. Ready-to-run binaries of Open Motif are freely available in the download section of the MotifZone and on The Open Group website.
  • Open Motif Support for Professionals provides unlimited support incidents for a specific customer contact. This is the ideal support offering for enterprises migrating existing applications to Linux as well as those developing new applications for Linux.
  • Motif Support for OEM's provides Linux hardware vendors and support companies, on demand, pay as you go, access to ICS's experts on Motif."

"Peter Winston, founder of ICS, said, "We have been working with Motif and X for over 13 years and have never wavered in our dedication and commitment to be the experts on Motif. We applaud The Open Group's decision to create Open Motif and stand ready to support it as Motif becomes the standard user interface toolkit on Linux too."
