"Accelerated Technology, Inc. today announced their position as a founding member of the Embedded Linux Consortium, or ELC, which recently formed at the 2000 Embedded Conference Spring in Chicago, IL. The Embedded Linux Consortium is a vendor-neutral trade association dedicated to the advancement and promotion of Linux throughout the embedded, applied and appliance computing markets."

"By encouraging memberships among developers, the ELC aspires to be an advocacy organization and to broaden their vision through widely varying individual perspectives. Developers will participate in ELC activities directed at the fast-emerging world of Internet-connected as well as standalone intelligent embedded devices."

"Accelerated Technology is participating in the Embedded Linux Consortium because it is an exciting and expansive new direction by the Linux community. Due to their prominence as the source code, no royalties RTOS leader, ATI will implement their extensive experience and expertise in the RTOS market to help provide direction and guidance to participants in the ELC. This experience will allow ATI to demonstrate their involvement by guiding Linux development towards a renowned position in the embedded market."
