"Lineo, Inc., a leading developer of embedded Linux system software, today announced that Kim Clark, vice president of engineering for Lineo, will deliver the Friday keynote at this week's LINUXFest 2000. LINUXFest 2000, the premier Linux conference for the midwest, will be held in Overland Park, Kansas, June 20-24 at the Overland Park International Trade Center."

"Clark will discuss what he sees as the two different waves of Linux. The first wave includes Linux's increase in popularity and growth in recent years compared to that of proprietary operating systems. The second wave focuses on the use of Linux in the embedded systems space and how developers can "put Linux anywhere" from microcontrollers to Internet appliances to high-end routers and back-end servers."

"Clark oversees Lineo's worldwide development and engineering staff. He has an extensive background in operating system technology and leads the development of Embedix(TM), Lineo's line of embedded Linux system software. Clark recently came to Lineo after 12 years at Novell where he worked on a number of projects including the development of the NetWare OS. Under his direction, he oversaw the development and release of Novell's award-winning NetWare operating systems (NetWare 4.x and NetWare 5.x), representing close to $1 billion in Novell's annual revenues. He holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University."
