"In support of its aggressive market development plan, Penguin Computing Inc., leading provider of reliable Linux systems for Internet serving, today announced that veteran high-tech sales executive Rick Blair has joined the company as vice president of sales. Blair brings to Penguin Computing more than 15 years of progressive leadership in sales, product management and development of enterprise accounts with industry innovators Iomega Corp. (NYSE: IOM) and Apple Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)."

"The addition of a vice president of sales is a milestone that illustrates the successful execution of Penguin Computing's strategy to form a seasoned management team that can drive its efforts to expand its business and take advantage of growing markets for Linux servers. Blair will manage the continuing expansion of Penguin Computing's sales force as the company continues to grow its revenues throughout the United States and internationally. His appointment closely follows the opening of a sales office in Atlanta and naming of an eastern regional sales manager and comes as the company looks to establish a greater presence overseas."

"Rick's record in working with top-tier technology companies speaks for itself. His experience selling multimillion-dollar hardware and software solutions will be a vital asset as Penguin Computing continues to expand its customer base and penetrate the enterprise market," said Chairman and CEO Sam Ockman. Before he joined Penguin Computing, Blair was Iomega's senior director of worldwide business development."
