"ESC combines Linux and AMD Thunderbird to create the first shipping Linux web servers using the newest AMD processor."

"ESC Technologies of Modesto, California, introduced the first family of Internet computer web servers using the new Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Athlon processor, code named Thunderbird, and Linux. ESC refers to the new server line as the LinBird family of machines that include both a Linux distribution and an AMD Athlon Thunderbird processor."

"The new Athlon is the fastest personal computer (PC) processor available in the mid-price market. Many computer system administrators use the Linux operating system because they can customize the way servers work by modifying its source code. "Combining Linux with the new Athlon Thunderbird in our new family of servers means that users can have advantages of the latest technology, speed and open source in one machine," stated Layne Heiny, ESC Technologies Vice President for research and development."
