I'm Ganesh Prasad, last known as the author of "The Practical Manager's Guide to Linux" ;-). I gave two talks at the Wrox-organised Bang!inux Linux conference at Bangalore, India in February this year. The slides from both those talks, together with Speaker's Notes, are now up at the Wrox website, under an OpenContent License.

Talk 1 - GNU/Linux and Free Software: http://www.linux-conferences.com/slides/prasad01/begin.htm

This talk deals with the economics of Free Software and tries to advance some original ideas about why the Free Software way is the "correct" way to develop software, borrowing from concepts in Engineering, Accounting, Finance and Economics.

Talk 2 - Web Application Development using Free Software: http://www.linux-conferences.com/slides/prasad02/begin.htm

This talks about the importance of Open Standards in Web application development, a comparative analysis of Microsoft DNA, J2EE and Free Software, four alternative routes before Free Software developers, and about the synergy between Java and Free Software.

I hope they provide interesting and thought-provoking reading to a large number of readers. That's why I chose to release them under the OpenContent License to encourage distribution and act as a vehicle to "market" the Free Software philosophy.

Thanks and regards,
