"I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Linux is
progressing at a lightning-fast pace. Analysts are now telling me
the Linux hype has died-even if that is true, at least hardware
manufacturers are taking notice to the promise of Linux."
"Linux may be primitive, and may always be, but what is it up
against? Would you rather have unstable, slightly-newer code that
still is only as fast as Linux? The Windows operating systems is a
perfect example. While it claims to be faster with gaming, it has
been yet to prove so. When Linux makes improvements, you gain
performance. Windows on the other hand, often does not. Take
Windows 2000, or the new Windows ME for example-both suffer
significant losses in frame rates when coupled with any card. Why
would you want to upgrade? Stability, of course! Linux, on the
other hand has no real stability concerns."
