Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"When I got the package in the mail the outside shell showed what appeared to be a MacUser's dream of Linux. 4CDs, tons of 3rd party software. The ultimate office/home solution for Linux. It is, but the troubles encountered during setup on two computers were not worth the hassle."

"First off, it looked nice--it appeared I could set up my hard drive from the MacOS. I followed the easy to read manual's instructions. I was still forced to go to "Expert Setup" when prompted about the disk even though I formatted one A/UX Root, one A/UX Swap, and one small 30 MB slice to contain the boot partition."

"After about 3 hours I got it to partially run on my Beige Box G3. It was nice except that I didn't have root access because after 10+ installs; I still got an error message about not being able to set the root password. This was a major hang-up, and this was not the only install error. During install I got about five more vague messages during each install attempt. The thing I was surprised to see was full support of my MacAlly USB card. Then again, it uses standard Apple drivers, so maybe that isn't so amazing."
