InstallFest set for August 26 for 181,115 users in Mexico

This article in http://linux.laplaya.com.mx anounced the InstallFest 2000 in Mexico to be this August 26th. The goals of the installfest are to primarily install freely linux in computers throughout the country.

Also they want to:

  • Create publicity for linux in the mexican media
  • Promote the use of linux in every city in the country
  • Put emphasis on linux installations for schools
  • Register users at Linux Counter
  • In general get users groups together to draw attention to the use of linux in mexico.
We are looking for corporate sponsers and someone with excellent writing skills to write up a nice press release to give to the newspapers and other media sources.
