"On its way around Australia, Installfest 2000 arrived in Brisbane on Saturday August 19. The event was held in the Hawken Engineering Building at the University of Queensland, St Lucia, and was organised by HUMBUG (Home Unix Machine Brisbane Users Group). HUMBUG has an Installfest page at http://installfest.humbug.org.au."
"All indications are that the event was a great success. About 90 people attended the day and approximately 40 computers had Linux installed and configured. "It was excellent! I had a very nice day," said Peter Kloeckl, an installer at the event. "There were around 20 installers, including people like me and official HUMBUG members."
"An interesting aspect of the day was the age range of the attendants, from very young to elderly. "Also, it was good to see that this wasn't a male-only event, there were a number of females present. We had one very experienced female installer," said Kloeckl."
