"American Megatrends Inc. (AMI), the leader in storage and computing innovations worldwide, today announced the addition of the Indium Server Appliance to its extensive line of products. The Indium's compact size allows integration into a half-height 5.25 inch drive bay, much like a CD-ROM drive, or multiple Indium boards can fit in a 1U rack mount chassis."

"According to IDC forecasts, the appliance server market will reach approximately 2.3 million units by 2004, representing market revenue of more than $11.5 billion. "AMI has leveraged its motherboard, firmware and embedded OS expertise to develop a series of products that enables OEMs to meet their Time-to-Market requirements," said Sanjay Sehgal, AMI vice president of sales and marketing."

"The Indium, a tightly integrated, small footprint server appliance motherboard, is ideal for use in emerging applications like Server, Linux and Web appliances. It combines AMI's expertise in board, firmware and OS environments, providing a scalable, high-performance platform that addresses many applications including network attached storage (NAS), web servers, caching appliances and other embedded environments."
