"Dan McMenamin asked: Anyone know if there's some
Linux-based application that will accept inputs from weather
instruments and display the data etc on a school's internal or
external webpage? We found wx200d, wx2000, gwx, and Steve
McCarthy's personal program. These apps work with specific
weather instruments (different in most cases). Of them all, Steve
McCarthy's seems to be closest to what Dan is looking for. If you
know of any more, please send that information to Doug Loss."
"We received a notice from Daniel Molkentin about the
reappearance of KDE-EDU: KDE-EDU is back! We recreated KDE-EDU for
mainly two purposes:
To have a forum for questions and discussions on how to use KDE
in schools or other educational environments. As we want to get as
many Windows user as possible to use KDE un Linux/UNIX as their
default working platform, we want to give support every effort to
use KDE in educational facilities.
To talk about new KDE programs that can be used or are intended
for educational purposes. Therefore, I will regularly check
apps.kde.com for such programs and post them here. We also strongly
encourage people to write or port such programs or report about
existing ones here. For porting purposes also have a look at the
"kde-devel" and "kde2-porting" mailinglists."
"vsep is a tcl/tk program. It's a kind of quiz. You have a theme
to choose (currently , maths and spanish) and then you have several
exercises to practice those subjects. You choose the right answer
out of 3 or 4 possible answers, that are written in buttons.
