"Red Hat, the leader in developing, deploying and managing open
source solutions today announced that Keio University will build a
large-scale campus network server system using Red Hat Linux 7 and
IBM Netfinity 4500R server, from Japan IBM Corporation. This campus
server network system will also adopt the new IBM eServer xSeries
network servers from IBM Japan."
"This network will integrate the independent campus networks at
Keio's Hiyoshi and Yagami Campuses and provide 15,000 teachers,
staff and students with basic network services including
file-sharing and e-mail. The new system will go on-line April 2001.
The network will expand to other campuses starting from the next
