"Lineo has announced the successful porting of the uClinux
2.4 kernel to Motorola DragonBall processors. The uClinux
microcontroller operating system was made popular by its ability to
run on processors without memory management hardware and with a
typical kernel footprint of only 512K bytes or less. uClinux
has been ported to 3Com's Palm devices, for instance."
"According to the company, uClinux users will be able to access
numerous new features of the Linux 2.4 kernel some of which
include: USB support, IrDA (infrared data transmission) and QoS
(quality of service) support which combine to increase the strength
of the networking capabilities."
