"Linux-Mandrake 7.2 was released for download on October 30, 2000. A person may purchase this distribution from a local computer store, mail order house, download it from the MandrakeSoft ftp site (or mirror site), or copy it from a friend. We purchased the Linux-Mandrake 7.2 Complete version from a computer store."
"There are four CDs each labeled incrementally 1 through 4. A boot disk is also included in the package. A thin manual is included as a "Quick Start Guide" and a thicker manual is a "User's Guide." An 8.5" x 11" red sheet of paper was also included. This was a warning message that MandrakeSoft publishes LM 7.2 following the GPL. However, the electronic books are protected by a different copyright...."
"While we actually installed LM 7.2 on five or six different systems...our main test system for this article was an AMD Duron 700 MHz housed on an Epox EP-8KTA2 motherboard, including 128 MB PC133 SDRAM, 20 GB UDMA 66 Hard Drive, TNT2 video card. A DVD ROM drive was attached to the secondary channel. Just for fun, we included a USB video camera. We also wanted to insert in a few comments about the dual FC-PGA and AMD 760 systems. These were removed during editing. Instead, we will add our comments to the hardware reviews of the products."
