"An open source project funded and maintained by Lineo, uClinux is designed to run on processors without memory management hardware and with a typical kernel footprint of only 512k bytes or less. The newest kernel gives users access to numerous new features of the Linux 2.4 kernel, some of which include: USB support, IrDA (infrared data transmission) and QoS (quality of service) support which combine to increase the strength of the networking capabilities."
