"Lineo, Inc., a leading innovator in embedded Linux tools, real-time and high availability solutions, has announced the availability of Embedix SDK 1.2-J, the next release of the Japanese software development kit for embedded developers and device manufacturers. Embedix SDK 1.2-J integrates support with cross-compilations, support for Hitachi SuperH 3 and 4 RISC processors and an integrated development environment to provide developers with greater flexibility and reduced time-to-market."

"The embedded device market in Japan requires tools and features provided by Embedix SDK 1.2-J to more quickly deliver devices to market, at a lower cost, with the smallest embedded software image possible," said Yoshinobu Ushiyama, CEO of Lineo Japan, Inc. "With the addition of the Hitachi SuperH processor, Lineo is making an accelerated effort to support most of the major chips and boards with Embedix SDK 1.2-J."

"The Embedix SDK previously supported the X86 and PowerPC processor families. Now, Lineo offers support for Hitachi SuperH 3 and 4 processors. Embedix SDK 1.2-J provides true cross-compilation which will allow for target images on the Embedix platform to be built and deployed across various processor families."
