A new project has been started to enhance Linux Threading in the
areas of POSIX compliance and SMP optimizations. To this end, it
will introduce a new M:N threading model. The package is licensed
under the LGPL and any interested developers are
invited to participate. The project is located on IBM
developerWorks in the Open
Source Zone and is sponsored by IBM. There is currently a
"pre-alpha" version of the code on the web site
that can be downloaded.
From the web site:
"The Next Generation POSIX Threading Project is a derivative of
the excellent package GNU Pth. Two new versions now exist, both of
which achieve near full POSIX compliance. Both versions of the
package are licensed under the LGPL."
