The server supports multiple CPU/server configurations; advanced and custom user authentication methods; opt-in user presence control; hidden IPs for users; and of course text messaging, including conferencing and store-and-forward features. In addition to its overall functionality, the Jabber Server architecture supports the development and implementation of plug-in gateways providing the ability to communicate with other IM services (Yahoo, MSN, AIM, etc.) or RSS news feeds.
