TUXIA, a manufacturer of embedded Linux software for Internet appliances and thin clients, today announced the release of Nanozilla, the first commercial release of a Mozilla-based browser specifically optimized for Internet appliances. The integration of Nanozilla in the TASTE& (TUXIA Appliance Synthesis Technology) software suite enables TUXIA to provide true desktop browser compatibility in the smallest possible footprint to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), independent software vendors (ISVs), systems integrators (SIs) and value-added resellers (VARs).

Nanozilla is based on the Mozilla open-source Web browser and has been engineered to meet the unique requirements of Internet appliances. Among the most important enhancements are dramatically reduced flash memory and RAM requirements, graphical user interfaces tailored for intuitive usage, and a built-in window manager optimized for low-resolution devices like set-top boxes, PDAs and WebPADS.
