nVidia 1.0 Linux Drivers Are Out

NVidia has released the 1.0 version of their drivers for XFree86 4.0.

From the download page:

"XFree86 binary drivers provide optimized hardware acceleration of OpenGL applications via a direct-rendering X Server and support the TNT, TNT2, GeForce 256, GeForce2 GTS, GeForce2 MX, GeForce2 Pro, GeForce2 GTS, GeForce 2 Ultra, GeForce2 Go, GeForce3, Quadro, Quadro2 MXR, and Quadro2 Pro chipsets. AGP and flat panel displays are also supported."

Packages are provided for:

  • Red Hat 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1 (uniprocessor or SMP systems)
  • Linux Mandrake 7.1, 7.2, 8.0 (uniprocessor or SMP systems)
  • source RPM's
  • source RPM's for systems with modified kernels (requiring a rebuild)
  • non-RPM-based systems as a tarball
