Not much new here: Linus explains why no one really knows how many computers are running Linux, and then he goes into a brief description about the origins of Linux. Yet another stop on the book tour, it seems.

"Moira: If Linux is free, how can you tell how many computers are running it?"

Linus: You can't, right? It's really hard. There are some good estimates, especially in certain areas. IDG makes estimates for how many servers are running Linux, because then you can actually go ask corporations, you can actually go on the Internet and kind of query the machines themselves. So in that area there are good estimates, but if you are asking how many machines are running Linux, nobody knows."
