This is a pretty good guide to getting a Handspring Visor (using
USB) running under Linux. Even since last year, many distributions
began using the USB backports, so some of the earlier steps may not
apply to people running the latest of the mainstream releases where
the Visor module is already built, but there are still some useful
steps to help nail down the last few details.
"Again this document isn't aimed at the Newbie market.
If I did this would be extremely long. Besides, a little bit of
research never hurt anyone...
I tested this with both the HandSpring Visor and the HandSpring
Visor Deluxe. These two gadgets are essentially the same. I believe
that some slightly different methods are required with the
Platinum, Prism, and Edge models. I don't have access to these yet
so I'm not really sure. Anyone who has gotten these to work feel
free to e-mail me.
Also note that if you are using a USB hub that it's a self
powered one. Apparently Linux has some slight problems with
non-powered USB hubs."
